LEVITATE
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
We publish one issue annually in late spring. We open for submissions starting October 10th, 2025 and close on February 28, 2026, allowing for both print & digital production date in early May.
At Levitate we are committed to creating a high-quality Literary Magazine filled with unique and thought provoking works. Levitate is and always will be a passion project dedicated to its artists; we value our community above all and work to ensure that every piece is cared for. Levitate accepts many different art forms such as fiction, poems, short stories, personal essays, letters, comic strips, and photography. We look for all the most creative and original submissions. We do not allow hate speech, bigotry, meaningless dramatic gore, NSFW, or AI generated submissions.
Please upload one prose piece, up to two individual poems, or up to four artworks per submission. When submitting to Levitate, we ask that include a short bio in your cover letter.
While we ask that you do not submit multiple times to the same genre, we do accept simultaneous submissions across genres if only once. If you submit in more than one genre, please include that information in your cover letter.
The title of your submission should be the title(s) of your piece(s). Submissions that fail to follow the guidelines will not receive the same careful attention that is given to correctly submitted work.
* Issue 10 will contain a special themed dossier on the theme of Lost & Found. If you choose to submit to this special section, we ask that your work pertains to your interpretation of that theme. The standard Poetry, Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, and Visual Art sections, however, are open to all themes and subjects. *
Contributors located in the United States will receive one free physical copy of the issue. International contributors will receive a PDF copy of the issue.
